Dear you,
RUH means soul. In Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi.
RUH is rooted in a cultural dialogue, between East and West.
Born in Singapore, raised in the Netherlands, with Dutch and Indian roots, and both parents living abroad, it never felt easy for me to answer "Where are you from?" or "Where is home?".
We explore the beauty of the in-between. Being and becoming.
For the women who carry more than one culture, through roots or experience.
With love,
Alisha
Three generations
Together with my favorite ladies, my mom and grandmother, we set out creating clothing capsules from the ground up. With my grandmother as our star negotiator in the fabric shops, and my mom as my partner in crime every single day, we are currently working on our second batch.
Who we make with
We built a network of artisans in Chandigarh who make every piece you see here.
Each garment is cut from natural fabrics — pure silk and raw cotton — in small batches. No two pieces are exactly alike. They're made by hand with time, intention, and care.
It's how clothing was made before convenience replaced craft.
We make our packaging bags with Chhoti Si Asha (meaning "Little Hope"). This is an NGO in India that supports women artisans through traditional handicrafts.
Every RUH garment arrives in a bag stitched by hand by women rebuilding their economic independence.
As we grow, we grow together with the people who make us possible.
